The Waubonsee Community College Foundation scholarship application is now open. This one application allows people to apply for all Foundation scholarships that students may be eligible for.

Waubonsee Community College announced the names of the student government for the current academic year.

While the current season lends itself to open windows in homes and offices, the coming change of seasons will soon bring colder temperatures and people thinking more about their home heating systems. With weather events like the polar vortex the Chicago area experienced in January 2019, maintenance of these systems is critical. Fortunately, there are people who are trained in this field. The Waubonsee Community College Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Program prepares students for careers in this in-demand industry.

Waubonsee Community College will host an open house on its Aurora Fox Valley Campus on Saturday, October 26 from 1 to 3 p.m. The event is family-friendly, free and open to the public.

Waubonsee Community College will host events and activities from 5 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, October 4 as part of First Fridays in downtown Aurora.

Waubonsee Community College will host comic ventriloquist Steve Brogan. The show will be on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. in the Auditorium on the Sugar Grove Campus.

The Waubonsee Chapter of the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) achieved President’s Circle status for the 2018-2019 academic year.

Many families know the challenge of getting children prepared for life after high school. With early college credit programs available, students now have assistance to prepare for college and beyond. Dual credit classes are one of those programs. These classes are college-level classes that provide both high school and college credit at the same time.

Waubonsee Community College will host College Night on Monday, Oct. 7 from 6 to 8 p.m. on its Sugar Grove Campus in the Academic and Professional Center.

Waubonsee Community College will host a discussion titled, “Sifting Through the Ashes of Truth: John Peter Altgeld, The Press, and the Internet’s Fake News Conundrum.”
