You're working hard to complete your first two years at Waubonsee, and we're committed to making it easy to transfer your credits.

A smart first step is to meet with our professionally trained academic advisors. We provide a variety of resources and personal services that help you sort out the details and put together a plan.

  • Transfer or articulation fact sheets
  • Catalogs, applications and scholarship info from many colleges
  • Access to information on more than 2,000 schools using the Internet
  • Events like College Night in October, trips to local schools and campus visits by college representatives
  • Advisors to help you plan your program of studies and make a smooth transition

Our advisors will help plan your transfer from the start, but you should also be aware of the overall process, along with some common transfer tools and terms.

Steps to Your Transfer

Take a semester-by-semester look at how you should be finishing your associate degree and preparing for transfer. 

First Semester

  • Meet with an Academic and Career Advisor 
  • Consult with university representatives 
  • Take general education courses and pursue an associate degree
  • Explore careers and majors
  • Attend College Night in October
  • Explore student life activities
  • Utilize Waubonsee resources 

Second Semester

  • Check in with your Academic and Career Advisor 
  • Check in with university representatives
  • Choose a major field of study
  • Narrow down choice of transfer school
  • Fulfill general education requirements of the transfer school
  • Learn GPA and other requirements of transfer school

Third Semester

Fourth Semester

  • Register early for your classes so you can complete your studies
  • Apply for financial aid and housing at transfer school
  • Graduate from Waubonsee! 
  • Arrange for Waubonsee to send final official transcript to your chosen school
  • Celebrate! You're on your way to a bachelor's degree!
