Frequently Asked Questions

Priority Leads: Responsible for overall progress of their assigned priority, liaisoning between the champions and the core team to maintain communication, remove barriers and provide resources.

Goal Champions: Responsible for leading action teams and leveraging other college staff/resources to achieve their assigned goal.

Data Liaisons: Responsible for sourcing and analyzing data that helps quantify gaps and opportunities, as well as progress and impact.

The working groups are a collaboration between the Priority Leads and Goal Champions to develop the tasks, action items, timelines, and accountability for the completion of each strategic action. Data Liaisons and IT Partners will assist by offering their expertise throughout the process.

How does this effort differ from other recent planning, like IT capability planning or enrollment planning?

The work of RISE 2030 includes IT capability planning, strategic enrollment planning, and the work of the Process Improvement Team.

Strategic actions are intentional, focused efforts designed to drive change, build new capabilities and turn the RISE 2030 initiatives into concrete, actionable steps.  

Strategic actions were identified through a year-long strategic planning process by WCC leadership in collaboration with the steering committee and reflecting feedback from WCC students, faculty, staff, Trustees, and community partners.

HLC is our institutional accreditation authority, ensuring Waubonsee meets quality standards and continuously improves. As part of this process, we are required to complete a Quality Initiative Project, demonstrating our commitment to institutional growth.

ATD on the other hand, is a peer-learning network that provides coaching, structure, and resources to help us enhance student success. Our work within this network counts towards the Quality Initiative Project which we report to HLC during accreditation.

Our ATD coaches like to call themselves our “critical friends,” offering guidance and best practices from other community colleges, helping us navigate challenges and avoid common pitfalls, all while holding ourselves accountable to our own goals.
