This priority focuses on enhancing Waubonsee’s visibility and impact within the community by continuing to identify and develop partnerships that advance the college’s mission and provide added value to the broader community. We will center the college as a hub for the community, which entails evolving how we work with community partners. We will focus on improving the community partner experience by strengthening our infrastructure and capacity for relationship-building activities while understanding the unique needs of industry partners and each community we serve.

Goal: Become the Central Hub for Community Activity and Engagement

Designate WCC employees who will be responsible for serving as points of contact for community partners to develop impactful and mutually beneficial relationships with organizations.
Goal: Establish Waubonsee as the go-to upskilling partner for area employers

Adapt course offerings and credentials to meet the needs of emerging and expanding fields.

Identify three existing or new regional employers to model new upskilling relationships that include defined pathways and encouragement of self-advocacy for personal development.
Goal: Enhance Waubonsee’s connection with the district by fostering a culture of service, collaboration, and community engagement that reflects our mission and shared values.

Waubonsee will establish and sustain an Employee Volunteer Program (EVP) that encourages multi-member representation, teamwork, and community-centered participation across district organizations and initiatives.

As the community’s college, we want everyone to be connected to RISE 2030. So we're taking the plan on the road - to you. Wrapping a car from our existing Campus Operations fleet is giving us the opportunity to build awareness, engagement, and excitement throughout the district in a new way. Be on the lookout for it at a location near you!
