 Waubonsee Community College is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Eric Aurand, of Tucson, Ariz., as the Dean for Mathematics and Science. Dr. Aurand brings experience in STEM education, leadership, and community engagement.

Waubonsee Community College, in partnership with the Kane County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) Preparedness Program is offering free Emergency Preparedness trainings for students, employees, and community members on March 4 and March 5 from 2 to 4:30 p.m.

Waubonsee Community College invites music lovers to experience a variety of jazz styles and compositions at its 3rd Annual Day of Jazz, a free full day of jazz performances featuring students, faculty and guest musicians. The event will take place on Saturday, March 1 from 1 to 9 p.m. at the college’s Sugar Grove Campus Auditorium.

Waubonsee Community College is proud to expand its entrepreneurship program by offering New Venture Academy – a 10-week cohort for aspiring business owners – in Spanish for the first time, called Academia Emprende. This effort ensures that entrepreneurs in the Spanish-speaking community have access to the same high-quality resources and support as their English-speaking peers.

Waubonsee Community College, in partnership with the Aurora Public Library District, Kaneville Public Library, Messenger Public Library of North Aurora, Sandwich Public Library District, and Sugar Grove Public Library, will offer free digital skills trainings for students and community members.
