Waubonsee Community College (WCC) and Aurora University (AU) recently signed a new Early Interest/Admission Agreement that gives local students a highly structured and supportive path to earning both an associate and bachelor’s degree in their home community.
Building upon the schools’ guaranteed admission agreement currently in place, this newest agreement offers additional benefits for WCC students who meet specific criteria and indicate their interest in transferring to AU early in their college career. These benefits include early connection to an AU counselor, free admission to AU athletics/student events, an annual $2,000 stackable scholarship, and priority course registration once enrolled at AU.
“Waubonsee is dedicated to helping students achieve success, and that often includes a smooth transfer experience and preparation for a fulfilling career,” said Waubonsee President Dr. Brian Knetl. “This agreement provides another great pathway by which students can more easily reach those important goals.”
AU is already a top transfer destination for WCC students, due to its location and the opportunities it offers. An average of 280 WCC students transfer to AU to continue their education every year.
"We are thrilled to deepen our strong partnership with Waubonsee Community College to offer students a clear degree pathway and a seamless transition to Aurora University," said Aurora University President Dr. Susana Rivera-Mills.
