Campus Assessment Team (CAT)

The Campus Assessment Team, or CAT, is a multidisciplinary campus threat assessment and behavioral intervention team that guides the campus community in effectively assessing and addressing threatening and/or concerning behaviors. CAT strives to assist the campus in intervening with someone before their behaviors reach a critical level.

How do I report a concern to CAT?

Submit a WIF report to notify the CAT team with concerns about the well-being or safety of students or community members who display:

patterns of unusual behavior
profoundly disruptive or bizarre behavior
substance abuse, misuse or erratic medication
emotionally troubled behavior
hostile, aggressive or relationally abusive behavior
ideation or infatuation with violence, suicide or risk-taking behavior

What happens when I report something to CAT?

When you submit a WIF report, the Assistant Vice President of Student Services and Alumni Relations will review it for further investigation. After the investigation is conducted, it may be necessary for the Campus Assessment Team (CAT) to conduct its own investigation.

CAT will investigate and assess threats and threatening behavior based on the NaBITA model (2014).
