Two Waubonsee Community College adjunct faculty members have been selected as Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Members for 2019.

Mike Wilson is an instructor in the college’s Mathematics and Sciences Division and is recognized for his teaching excellence in the college’s credit programs. In addition to his work in the classroom, Wilson led the effort to have the Waubonsee Observatory repaired and upgraded.

Tara Schwab is an instructor in the college’s Adult Education Division and is recognized for her teaching excellence in the college’s noncredit programs. In addition to her work in the classroom, Schwab participates on various curriculum development committees, as well as the content standards alignment for language arts in the college’s high school equivalency program.

Adjunct faculty members are nominated for this recognition by their division leadership for their demonstration of quality instruction, commitment to student success, and their contributions to the credit and noncredit divisions. Wilson and Schwab were recognized at the spring faculty orientation on January 17.
