Waubonsee Community College has named Dr. Stacey Randall, Executive Director of Institutional Effectiveness, Innovation, and Planning, as the recipient of the 2026 Dr. Christine J. Sobek Outstanding Administrator Award. The prestigious award recognizes Dr. Randall’s nearly three decades of exemplary service, visionary leadership, and steadfast commitment to student success.

Each year, Waubonsee Community College names an Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Member. This award recognizes faculty who exemplify the college’s mission by enriching lives through learning, fostering curiosity, and promoting a culture of inclusion and community engagement. This year’s Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Member is Holly Schmidt, Adjunct Faculty in Arts and Humanities. Schmidt has served Waubonsee as an adjunct since 2010.

Each year, Waubonsee Community College recognizes an Outstanding Faculty Member who exemplifies the college’s mission through a commitment to enriching the lives of students, colleagues, and the community. This year’s Outstanding Faculty Member is Dr. Emily Heller, Associate Professor of Kinesiology and Health Education, who has served as a full-time faculty member at Waubonsee since 2017.

Waubonsee Community College has officially unveiled its new Center for Student Assistance on the Sugar Grove Campus, establishing a comprehensive hub dedicated to providing long-term support for students.

The Waubonsee Community College Foundation will host its annual golf outing fundraiser on Monday, September 28, 2026, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the Aurora Country Club, and the community is invited to make a difference while enjoying a day on the course.

Following a highly successful spring pilot launch, Waubonsee Community College’s free campus shuttle provided over 830 rides to 107 unique riders, saving local students more than 8,300 miles of travel between the college’s Sugar Grove and Aurora Downtown Campuses since January.
