Waubonsee Welcomes 500+ to Career Programs Open House and “Signing Day” at State-of-the-Art Technical Education Center
Waubonsee Community College made history by hosting its annual Career Programs Open House and Signing Day for the first time within its brand-new 100,000-square-foot Technical Education Center (TEC) on March 12, 2026. The event, which includes local high school students declaring their interest in studying skilled trades at Waubonsee, served as a full-circle moment for Waubonsee student Jacob Merrill and his twin brother Kyle Merrill.
Waubonsee to Host Illinois State Robotics Championships, March 13-14
Waubonsee Community College, in partnership with Fox Valley Robotics, will host the 2026 VEX V5 Robotics State Championship on Friday, March 13 and Saturday, March 14. The two-day competition will take place in the Academic and Professional Center at the Sugar Grove Campus, Rt. 47 at Waubonsee Drive. Admission for spectators is free, and the public is invited to attend.
