Rick Verhaagen, of Sugar Grove, isn't interested in a quiet retirement. A retired Naval Submarine Officer who served his country for 24 years, Verhaagen's impressive career has taken him from the engine rooms of aircraft carriers and nuclear submarines to the halls of NATO headquarters and the nation's top nuclear facilities.

Waubonsee Community College will host an open house on Thursday, Nov. 6, in celebration of National STEM Week. This free event is open to the community and will be held in the Auditorium on the Sugar Grove Campus, located at Route 47 and Waubonsee Drive.
Waubonsee Invites Community to Public Auction, Nov. 12
Waubonsee Community College invites the public to attend an on-site liquidation auction of auto body and other surplus equipment conducted on Wednesday, Nov. 12 at 10 a.m. The auction will take place in Akerlow Hall located on Waubonsee’s Sugar Grove Campus. Doors will open at 8:30 a.m. on the day of the auction.

Waubonsee Invites Community to Third Annual Bike the Burbs and Grand Opening of Tennis and Pickleball Complex
Waubonsee Community College will host its third annual Bike the Burbs community engagement event at the Sugar Grove Campus on Saturday, Nov. 8 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This year’s free family-friendly event will feature the official ribbon-cutting and grand opening of the college’s brand-new Tennis and Pickleball Complex. All members of the community are welcome to attend.
