Note taking as an accommodation provides access to information presented in class. A note taking accommodation can be provided to students in more than one way.

Examples of note taking accommodation

  • Receive notes and/or materials from instructor
  • Receive a copy of notes from a peer notetaker
  • Use of a laptop or mobile device to take notes
  • Take photographs of material presented during class
  • Audio record information presented in class *

Notify your instructor(s)

  • Indicate that you are working with the Access Center
  • Provide your instructor(s) with a copy of your current VISA3
  • Discuss how note taking applies in the course & how a note taking accommodation can be achieved
  • Determine a plan for your note taking accommodation
  • As needed ask instructor(s) to assist you with finding a peer note taker
