  • Apply the concepts of development, pathophysiology and pharmacology to the assessment and treatment of emergency patients.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, other healthcare providers and emergency responders.
  • Provide basic emergency care required at the scene of a medical emergency or traumatic injury.
  • Use, maintain and care for common medical equipment used by the EMT-Basic.
