Bio:
Nate Mathews (b. 1982) is a Chicago based artist whose work explores how inhabitants respond to architecture. In 2008 he received his M.F.A. in Photography from Columbia College Chicago and is currently an Assistant Professor of Photography at Northeastern Illinois University. His work has recently been shown in the Rockford Midwestern Biennial at the Rockford Art Museum, Four by Five at the New Orleans Photo Alliance, and a two-person exhibition at the Noyes Cultural Art Center in Evanston. Mathews also recently curated The Space Between, at the Fine Art Center Gallery at Northeastern Illinois University. The Space Between is a photographic exhibition that examines the suburban space created between the rural and urban.
