Studying Mass Communication at Waubonsee

Our Sugar Grove Campus boasts a state-of-the-art media studio equipped with the latest production technology and editing software. Each and every student gets hands-on experience in the studio, personal support from our dedicated faculty, and opportunities to work on real-world programming. Student-produced shows and public service announcements have won awards and been broadcast on local television and the college’s educational television channel.

Working in Mass Communication

Mass communication informs and influences audiences, broadening and changing perceptions about ourselves, each other and the world around us. A degree program in mass communication helps increase awareness and understanding of how the media affects audience behavior and patterns of thinking — and prepares you for advanced studies or a career as a reporter or editor, spokesperson, media relations expert or media producer.
