Teaching is my true vocational calling in life, and I adore and respect each of my students and the diverse backgrounds from which they come. I always say I learn more from them than they do from me, and I am forever grateful for that. This dream of teaching started when I was a little girl when I would line up my dolls and pretend to teach them the alphabet, read them stories, and solve basic math problems.
On a more personal note, I live where the Western suburbs meet the cornfields, and I live with my beloved husband, three children, and our cat, Ruthie--the loves of my life.
Not only do I teach writing, but I also write myself, and I publish short stories and essays in literary magazines and journals.
