Waubonsee Community College is proud to announce the launch of a new pilot shuttle bus service designed to provide free and convenient transportation between its Sugar Grove and Aurora Downtown Campuses.
This free transportation service, available to all Waubonsee students, officially begins on the first day of the spring semester, Jan. 20, 2026. By connecting these two campus locations, Waubonsee is ensuring that all students have seamless access to the diverse course offerings and specialized resources available at both campuses.
"Transportation should never be a barrier to success," said Dr. Toya Webb, Executive Vice President and Chief of Staff. "This shuttle provides a reliable and free solution for those balancing work and family with their studies."
Accessing the shuttle is a straightforward process. Students are required to present their XCARD to board the shuttle bus. These identification cards are available at the Sugar Grove and Aurora Downtown Campuses. This initiative is a direct extension of the college’s commitment to “Strengthen the Student Experience” through its RISE 2030 strategic plan. Waubonsee will celebrate this launch with a Campus Shuttle Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Friday, Jan. 16, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The ceremony highlights the pick-up and drop off locations for the program, starting on the Sugar Grove Campus and ending at the Aurora Downtown Campus. The event is open to faculty, staff, business leaders, and the public. The college has invited local representatives from area chambers of commerce to attend, highlighting the importance of this service to workforce development and the local economy.
