Waubonsee Community College nursing students may have an easier time earning their bachelor’s degree thanks to a new agreement with the University of Illinois Chicago. 

The Waubonsee Community College Foundation Board of Directors announces a new board president and board vice president.

The Waubonsee Community College Foundation approved Kaleshia “Kay” Page to join its board of directors at the board’s meeting on September 15.

We need the arts now, more than ever. In this troubling time, as we isolate and maneuver through the pandemic, we have probably found ourselves listening to music, watching movies, reading books, or perusing museum websites all the time. We have turned to the arts for safety and security, maybe without even realizing it.

Waubonsee Community College Foundation Board Welcomes New Member

Tolkien points out what many writers forget—that some wars are worth fighting to preserve freedom and that oppression must be conquered in order for peace to reign. It would be so much easier if we never had to leave our shires and become soldiers. However, those of us who are safe at home and protected by those who do join the battle are grateful, for to them we owe our support, our lives, and our freedom.

Veterans are at a higher risk of suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) than the general population, and it is the third most prevalent disability for veterans receiving compensation (Reisman, 2016). 

The lesson is, that like human nature itself, war is a complicated weave of good and bad, life and death, heroism and brutality.
