My name is Priscila Vargas, Waubonsee Student Trustee. I am currently into my second semester working on my Associate of Science with a concentration in Nursing. I would first like to thank everyone who voted for me to become the 2021-2022 Student Trustee. My goal is to make everyone at Waubonsee proud of what we will accomplish together this upcoming academic year.  

Dr. Aaron Lawler, Assistant Professor of Humanities, was awarded the 2021 Dale P. Parnell Faculty Distinction Recognition. This award recognizes individuals who go above and beyond what is required to ensure that students succeed in their academic endeavors.

Waubonsee Community College announces its 2021 Distinguished Alumnus Award recipient. Dr. Indigo Debra Triplett is this year’s Distinguished Alumnus.

Waubonsee Community College is celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Horizons, an annual, literary magazine designed by students in Waubonsee’s Creative Writing Club.

A Waubonsee Community College alumnus has been recognized by the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC). Aurora Police Chief Kristen Ziman is one of three selected for AACC’s 2021 Outstanding Alumni Award.

May is a time of change and transition for many people. This is particularly true for high school and college graduates.

The Waubonsee Community College Board of Trustees held its special seating and reorganization meetings on Thursday, April 29.   

The Waubonsee Community College Board of Trustees seated Priscila Vargas to serve as the student trustee for the 2021-2022 academic year.

The artwork of five Waubonsee students have been selected for inclusion in the 2021 Virtual Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference Juried Art Show hosted by the College of Lake County. Nearly 200 pieces were submitted from eight area community colleges.

Sugar Grove – Jacqueline Chavez-Moreno, from Aurora, has been named a 2021 Coca-Cola Academic Team Silver Scholar. She will receive a $1,250 scholarship.
