For Waubonsee student Kaithren Garcia, a first-generation Latina, of Aurora, succeeding academically did not always come easy. Yet, as Garcia prepares to walk across the stage at Waubonsee’s 54^th commencement ceremony on May 14 to receive her Associate in Science in Biology, she is energized and excited for what lies ahead.

Waubonsee Community College will host an open house at the Aurora Downtown Campus on Friday, May 6 from 5 to 9 p.m. during Aurora's First Fridays. This family-friendly event is free and open to the community.

The Illinois Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Waubonsee Community College has been awarded a $20,000 grant from the First National Bank of Omaha (FNBO) to help more Hispanic/Latinx entrepreneurs.  

When you use your favorite product or service, what is the feeling you get? Do you know the mission of the company that created it? Do you know why that company or organization exists? When an organization updates its mission statement, the details of what goes behind those changes are often left out. Suddenly, you notice that the product you have always used has changed its logo or packaging one day. No notice is given, and sometimes not even a reason is provided externally. If you really want to know, you must search for it.

The Waubonsee Community College Board of Trustees seated Juan Chiu to serve as the student trustee for the 2022-2023 academic year. 

At its April board meeting, Waubonsee Community College recognized an inspiring adult learner's academic and professional accomplishments. Tiffany Kinsey, the wife of a U.S. Army veteran, embodies the Army value of selfless service as she puts the needs of others in front of her own.

Waubonsee Community College will celebrate the accomplishments of its students with commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 14, at the college’s Sugar Grove Campus Field House. Ceremonies will take place at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Waubonsee Community College is pleased to announce the recipient of the 2022 Distinguished Contributor Award. The award recognizes leaders and groups that have made an extraordinary commitment to promoting the college and its mission. This year's Distinguished Contributor is Diane D. Homan, M.D.
