Waubonsee Community College has hired staff member Stephanie Wennmacher, of Oswego, as Executive Director of Marketing and Communications. 

Waubonsee Community College has announced the 2022 Support Staff Awards for Excellence. Awards were presented in each of three categories: Innovation and Creativity, Service and Quality, and Diversity and Inclusion. 

Waubonsee Community College will host a Career Fair to attract candidates to apply for more than 70 current staff/faculty job openings. The event will take place on Wednesday, June 29 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the Academic and Professional Center on the college’s Sugar Grove Campus, Route 47 at Waubonsee Drive. The event is free and open to the public. 

Waubonsee Community College welcomes Dr. Ruth Anne Rehfeldt, of Naperville, to the position of Dean for Visual and Performing Arts, Education, and Sciences.

Waubonsee alumnus Rosa Brolley, of Montgomery, is the daughter of Mexican immigrants and a passionate educator in Indian Prairie School District 204. She lives to teach students from around the world that diversity is beautiful and valuable. 

Doing what you love and following your passion is sage advice frequently heard during the graduation and back-to-school season. But has anyone ever taken the time to explain how to discover one's life passion when doling out this advice?  

One of the enduring benefits of attending college is the expanded opportunity to discover new passions. Education has the power to transform lives because it opens doors for individuals to step into new realities, new opportunities, and new identities, putting them in a position to reap exciting new rewards. 

Here at Waubonsee, the spring semester has come to an end. To every student who has successfully completed all their coursework or has graduated and is now moving on to the next chapter in their lives, I want to sincerely congratulate you on your accomplishment; mission accomplished, you did it! 

Waubonsee Community College has announced its 2022 Outstanding Faculty Member, Denise Nakaji, Professor of Therapeutic Massage. Nakaji has served Waubonsee as a full-time instructor in Waubonsee’s Massage Therapy Program since 1999. 

Two Waubonsee Community College students will be honored among Illinois' top community college students. Waubonsee students Jennifer Tripathi, of Aurora, and Jatniel Morales Gomez, of Oswego, were chosen for the Phi Theta Kappa All-Illinois Academic Team.
