For the 14th consecutive year, Waubonsee Community College has received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting award from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA).

The award is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by Waubonsee and its staff.

According to an impartial GFOA panel, the college’s comprehensive annual financial report met the high standards of the program including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and an understanding of its financial affairs.

Of the 75 colleges and universities the GFOA recognized this year, 20 are Illinois community colleges.

The GFOA is a non-profit professional association serving approximately 17,500 government finance professionals with offices in Chicago and Washington, D.C.
