Waubonsee Community College has partnered with the Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) in creating pathways and guaranteed course schedules. These program enhancements are designed to make the academic journey easier and to help students achieve their goals faster.

This project was designed to address specific goals identified through our educational affairs plan and a community needs assessment the college completed in 2018.

The college has created pathways for more than 30 academic majors in transfer programs. These pathways list recommended courses for a four-semester sequence to a transfer degree. The college has also created a list of courses guaranteed to run in the fall 2019 semester based on the pathways.

“AAC&U is thrilled to partner with the selected Guided Pathways institutions to promote student success and demonstrated the ways in which community colleges are vital to our nation’s strength—serving as engines of discovery, innovation, and social mobility,” said AAC&U President Lunn Pasquerella in a press release about this program.

Waubonsee is one of just 20 colleges from across the country that is partnering with the AAC&U in this program.
