"I’m not a millionaire. I’m not a billionaire. But I don’t want to see anybody put their dreams aside, especially because of money.”
For more than two decades, Professor Gary Clark has supported Waubonsee students through both service and philanthropy. Since 2000, he has volunteered on the Foundation’s scholarship selection committee, reading applications and helping connect students with scholarship opportunities.
That experience gave Gary a firsthand look at the determination, resilience, and financial challenges many students face. Inspired by their stories, he expanded his commitment by establishing the El Corazón Scholarship and later the Mary Nisbet Clark Memorial Endowed Scholarship in honor of his mother.
Gary believes that every gift has the power to change a student’s future, regardless of its size. His generosity reflects a simple conviction: when students have the opportunity to pursue their education without financial barriers, entire communities benefit.
Watch Gary’s story to hear why supporting scholarships has become one of the most meaningful ways he gives back.
