Recording Credit at Waubonsee

If you've taken classes at another college or university, you’ll follow the same enrollment process as a new student. Make sure to have your official transcripts sent to Registration and Records so we can evaluate your transfer credits.

Veterans can earn up to four semester hours for physical education or personal wellness courses based on their military experience. You can get the application forms for armed forces credit at Academic and Career Advising.

If you’ve taken a College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) exam, make sure to have your exam records sent to Waubonsee. The CLEP® Course Equivalency Guide lists the credits you can earn based on your scores.

Complete the required Credit Request form* to have your CLEP scores evaluated for credit. CLEP exam scores must be received by Waubonsee prior to completing the form.

If you’ve taken  Advanced Placement (AP)® exams, send your records to Waubonsee so we can evaluate your scores. Check out the AP® Course Equivalency Guide to see how many credits you can earn.

If you’ve completed the IB program, send your IB transcript to Waubonsee. The IB Course Equivalency Guide will show you how many credits you can earn based on your scores.

Complete the required Credit Request form* to have your IB transcript evaluated for credit. The IB transcript must be received by Waubonsee prior to completing the form.

If you took certain technical or career courses in high school through the VALEES program, you might be eligible for credit at Waubonsee. The VALEES website includes a complete list of eligible courses and their Waubonsee equivalents.

Check with your high school counselor or a Waubonsee advisor for the paperwork. You’ll also need to submit an official high school transcript. For more info, check the "Career Connections" section of the college catalog.

You might be able to earn credit based on standardized college exams, professional training, or industry certifications.

The State Seal of Biliteracy is a high school program that recognizes students who have attained an advanced level of proficiency in speaking, writing, and reading one or more languages in addition to English.  Read more information about the State Seal of Biliteracy.
