TEC building open house

Waubonsee is opening the doors of its massive, new automotive facilities to the public this summer, launching a series of noncredit vehicle maintenance courses. Designed for everyday drivers and hobbyists, these hands-on courses offer a rare opportunity for community members to learn in a state-of-the-art facility.

This summer, residents can gain hands-on vehicle skills at Waubonsee's 100,000 square-foot Technical Education Center (TEC), home to its nationally certified and ASE-accredited Automotive Service Technology program. Community members can benefit from two specialized, noncredit courses:

  • Basic Auto Maintenance and Vehicle Ownership – A practical guide for individuals who want to better understand their vehicles, master routine maintenance, and confidently navigate roadside basics.

  • Auto Maintenance for Women – An empowering, hands-on course tailored to demystify car care and how to troubleshoot common issues to build confidence.

These noncredit courses serve as a “test drive” for community members to learn from Waubonsee’s expert faculty. Both courses start in June. To learn more, enroll, or sign up for Waubonsee’s community newsletter, visit waubonsee.edu/community.
