Juneteenth Panelists: Shellee McCullum, Tacarra Ford, Chassie Sherretz, and moderated by Clayton Muhammad

Waubonsee Community College is inviting community members to attend a panel discussion in honor of the Juneteenth season, titled "Beyond Celebration: Black Voices, Lasting Legacy." This free event is open to the public and will take place on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from noon to 2 p.m. at Waubonsee's Sugar Grove Campus.

Attendees will hear firsthand stories and career advice from Black faculty and staff:  Shellee McCullum, Institutional Effectiveness Project Manager, Tacarra Ford, Instructor of English, and Chassie Sherretz, Director of Student Academic Support. The discussion will be moderated by Clayton Muhammad, Vice President of Community Engagement. At the core of the panel discussion is the recognition that representation in higher education spaces matters deeply for the communities Waubonsee serves. Participants are invited to leverage this collaborative space to network directly with the broader Waubonsee community. Complimentary refreshments and giveaways will be available at this event, while supplies last. To learn more about this event, visit calendar.waubonsee.edu/juneteenth.
