This hands-on, noncredit course introduces participants to the core principles of modern advanced manufacturing, aligning with the Smart Automation Certification Alliance (SACA) credentials. Designed for individuals preparing to enter or advance in the manufacturing workforce, this training provides foundational knowledge and practical skills needed in today’s technology-driven production environments. Through a blend of interactive instruction and lab-based activities, students will build confidence in using smart manufacturing tools and technologies that are essential across multiple industry roles. Key Competencies Covered: * Introduction to Smart Manufacturing concepts and Industry 4.0 terminology; * Safe use of hand tools and equipment in a production environment; * Basic setup and operation of automated machinery; * Interpreting blueprints and electrical schematics; * Performing precision measurements and inspections; * Fundamentals of electrical controls, pneumatics, and sensors; * Basic robotic systems operation and terminology; * Real-time production monitoring using HMIs, networked systems, and mobile devices. Upon successful completion, students will be prepared to sit for the SACA C-101 Certified Industry 4.0 Associate 1 - Basic Operations certification exam and take the first step toward a career in advanced manufacturing.
