Being a first-generation college student can be daunting. Being a first-generation college graduate is exhilarating. Abel Perez knows this first hand. Now he uses his experience to help and encourage young people today to work hard and better themselves. For this, Perez has been recognized as a Waubonsee Student Success: Featured Alumnus.

The Waubonsee Community College Board of Trustees seated a new member at its regularly scheduled meeting on March 21.

The Waubonsee Community College Board of Trustees appointed Lei Xie to the position of Director of Financial and Auxiliary Services. The appointment was made at the board’s regularly scheduled meeting in February. Xie assumed the duties of the position on March 12.

There is currently a problem calling the Aurora Downtown and Aurora Fox Valley Campuses from off those campuses. This issue only applies to dialing the general campus numbers of 630-801-7900 number for the Aurora Campus and 630-585-7900 for the Fox Valley Campus. Calling a direct extension is working.

IT is working to resolve the issue. Updates will be communicated as they are available.

Waubonsee Community College will host six music performances that highlight the wide variety of styles and offerings available at the college.

The Waubonsee Community College Foundation presented 14 students with the John J. Swalec, Jr. President’s Achievement Award.

Waubonsee Community College will offer more than 40 different summer camp opportunities this year for kids ages 4-14.

As part of Waubonsee’s 50th anniversary celebration in 2016-17, and as part of our strategic transformational plan, we are seeking to more vigorously re-envision our alumni program.
