Waubonsee Community College celebrated twin feats - dedicating its new Field House and newly renovated Erickson Hall, the project which served as the capstone of the college's 2020 College Master Plan, a 14-year-long building project to improve and prepare the college to respond to the needs of the community in 2020 and beyond.

On March 10, Waubonsee Community College will celebrate the opening of its new Field House and a renovated Erickson Hall. The event will also mark the completion, on time and on budget, of the college's 2020 College Master Plan, a multi-year building and improvement project spanning more than a decade and including two new campuses in Aurora and Plano and five new buildings on the Sugar Grove Campus.
Beginning her story: Student Anna Dutton Leverages Experience, Recognitions to Pen Story of Student Success
Before coming to Waubonsee Community College, student Anna Dutton, of Oswego, was named Northern Illinois' High School Journalist of the Year. Aided by a prestigious Lucile Gustafson Scholarship, Dutton is now using her time at Waubonsee to grow as a writer - in the classroom, through internships with local newspapers, and other media - as she prepares to launch her career in coming years.
Patrick Engineering Honored for Work on Waubonsee North Entrance Intersection
Patrick Engineering, of Lisle, has been recognized by the American Council of Engineering Companies of Illinois for its work to design the new intersection at Waubonsee's Sugar Grove Campus' North Entrance with Route 47, which improved safety for all using the entrance or driving through.

Waubonsee Community College Dean for Students Scott Peska has been selected to serve on the editorial board for the Journal of Student Affairs Research and Practice, published by De Gruyter.

Waubonsee Community College's art spaces will host exhibitions through March, including "Unsoiled" by Allison Grant in the Arrowhead Room gallery in the Dickson Center on Waubonsee's Sugar Grove Campus.
