Scholarship Fest

Scholarship Fest

The Waubonsee Community College Foundation’s annual Scholarship Fest is one of the highlights of every year, honoring our scholarship recipients and the generous donors whose support makes their educational journeys possible.

For the 2025-26 academic year, the Foundation was able to award 426 scholarships totaling more than $438,000, and at Scholarship Fest 2025, the students who received those awards had an opportunity to personally meet the donors who funded their scholarships.

The evening featured heartfelt reflections from Alexandra Lemke, recipient of the El Corazón Scholarship and the James E. Meier Memorial Awards, and Waubonsee Professor Gary Clark, whose experiences on the Scholarship Selection Committee opened his eyes to the tremendous need and inspired him to establish both the El Corazón Scholarship, for Latinx students, and the Mary Nisbet Clark Endowed Scholarship, in honor of this mother.

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate the power of education, generosity, and community!

Alexandra Lemke: “If you had told the younger me who visited food pantries that I would one day be here, at college, on a full ride, with my future ahead of me, I wouldn’t have believed you for one moment.”
