I have more than 30 years of HIM experience, including extensive knowledge in auditing, compliance, billing, coding and education. 

I am currently employed as a Professor in the Health Information Technology at Waubonsee Community College. Since coming to WCC in 2006, I developed the Health Information Technology curriculum in which was granted CAHIIM accreditation in 2012.

Prior to my employment at the college, I held a variety of roles throughout my career concentrating on revenue cycle management and compliance. Currently, I serve as an AHIMA mentor and CAHIIM Peer Reviewer.

I have a Master’s degree in Teaching at Concordia University, River Forest, Illinois; a Post Baccalaureate certificate in Health Information Management from the University of Illinois at Chicago; a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from Saint Mary's College, Notre Dame, Indiana.

I possess certifications as a RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator), a Clinical Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP), a Certified Coding Specialist-Physician Based (CCS-P), a Certified Professional Biller (CPB), an AHIMA Approved ICD-10-CM/PCS Trainer and Effective College Instruction (ACUE).
