Waubonsee Honors Longtime Trustee with Resolution

At the April 19 board meeting, the Waubonsee Community College Board of Trustees recognized the leadership of James K. Michels, P.E. with a special Resolution. The Waubonsee Community College Board of Trustees adopted a Resolution on April 19 to recognize and honor Michels for his commitment, dedication, and many years of distinguished service on the Waubonsee Community College Board of Trustees; it also bestows upon him the honorary title of Trustee Emeritus.

Board of Trustees Members

Joining the Waubonsee Community College Board of Trustees for the first time, Stacey Ries, RN, JD, CHC, was elected for a six-year term on the board of trustees in the April 4, 2023 consolidated election. Board Members Jimmie Delgado and Gregroy Thomas were re-elected to six-year terms on the board. The board unanimously elected its officers for 2023-2025 as follows: Rebecca D. Oliver, Chair; Patrick Kelsey, Vice Chair; and Gregory Thomas, Secretary.

Waubonsee Community College is currently in the process of creating a new strategic plan that will guide the institution into the future. Until the new plan is finalized, the college will focus on the projects outlined in the FY24 Statement of Work.
