Waubonsee Community College showcased its growing national prominence in higher education marketing and public relations during the annual gathering of the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) 2026 Leadership Institute.
Selected as part of an exclusive cohort of 22 attendees nationwide representing U.S. community and technical colleges, Waubonsee marketing and communications team was represented by Bayley Bishop, Digital Communications Coordinator; Kera Hollenbeck, Marketing and Communications Specialist; and Kate Sampson, Marketing and Communications Coordinator.
"Leadership development is one of the most meaningful investments an institution can make,” said Dr. Toya Webb, Executive Vice President and Chief of Staff at Waubonsee Community College and NCMPR Vice President/President-Elect. “Having Waubonsee team members selected for this prestigious national program reflects both their individual excellence and our commitment to fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth. Through my service on the NCMPR Board, I am reminded every day that the future of our profession depends on leaders who are willing to learn, share ideas, and elevate one another. I am proud to see Waubonsee represented by such talented professionals who are helping shape the future of higher education marketing and communications."
NCMPR’s Leadership Institute focuses exclusively on elevating community and technical college marketing and public relations professionals. Cohort members engage in interactive leadership development and presentation training, share in small-group discussions, networking, and peer collaboration and learn how to develop the executive-level skills required to succeed on administrative leadership teams.
Adding to Waubonsee’s national presence, Marketing and Communications Coordinator Jamie Feiza was recently appointed to NCMPR’s Executive Council following her attendance at the 2025 Leadership Institute.
“The Leadership Institute was an incredible opportunity to learn, build relationships, and gain new perspectives on leadership," said Feiza. “I’m excited to see what my team members take away from the experience."
This national leadership momentum follows Waubonsee’s recent recognition at the NCMPR national conference in Washington, D.C., where the college received a prestigious 2025 Paragon Bronze Award. Through continued national board governance, executive development, and award-winning campaigns, Waubonsee continues to position itself as a premier voice in higher education and an employer of choice.
