Waubonsee Community College will host its third annual Bike the Burbs community engagement event at the Sugar Grove Campus on Saturday, Nov. 8 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This year’s free family-friendly event will feature the official ribbon-cutting and grand opening of the college’s brand-new Tennis and Pickleball Complex. All members of the community are welcome to attend.
The day will be packed with activities for all ages and all skill levels. Attendees will be among the very first to play on the new courts following the official Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony. Throughout the event, there will be Tennis and Pickleball instruction and open court play.
For cyclists, the event features group bike rides for various skill levels, along with safety checks and rentals. Loaner bikes and helmets will be available to participants at no cost. Non-riders can enjoy the fun with music and self-guided campus tours. Complimentary refreshments will be available while supplies last.
“It’s been exciting to see Bike the Burbs become a popular annual event, and we’re thrilled to pair it with the unveiling of our new tennis and pickleball courts this year,” said Waubonsee Community College President Dr. Brian Knetl. “As the community's college, we’re proud to offer this welcoming wellness resource to residents and look forward to giving people a first look at the grand opening celebration.”
