Waubonsee Community College’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program has completed 15 years of service to the community.

Since 2005, more than 700 students and members of the community have volunteered in this program. Those volunteers have helped 10,651 people prepare nearly 20,000 federal and state income tax returns. These returns have resulted in more than $21 million in tax refunds to individuals.

Waubonsee’s partner in this program, the Center for Economic Progress (CEP), joined with Ladder Up to expand services to financially vulnerable families across Illinois.

Waubonsee values the partnership with CEP and Ladder Up as well as the dedication of the volunteers who serve to benefit the people of our community.
