Waubonsee Community College is seeking input from community members as it plans celebrations for its 50th anniversary, which will be observed in 2016. The college wants the observances to be meaningful to the entire community, so the public is asked to send ideas to WCC50@waubonsee.edu by Oct. 31.

Waubonsee came into existence in August 1966 when the electorate of 12 school districts in most of Kane and portions of Kendall, DeKalb, LaSalle and Will counties voted to establish the Community College District 516. Today, the district encompasses nearly 600 square miles, and the college has grown to four campuses.
