Waubonsee Community College will host free events on the evening of Friday, Dec. 7 as part of First Fridays in downtown Aurora.

The events will be held on the college’s Aurora Downtown Campus and will feature Waubonsee’s Art and Music Programs. The Waubonsee Ceramics Club will have an exhibition featuring the work of students, faculty and staff in the library. Students and staff will also demonstrate the techniques of making ceramic art on the potter’s wheel. Ceramic items will be available for sale, as well.

In addition to the art exhibition and demonstration, the Waubonsee Jazz Combo and the Eric Binder Jazz Group will perform in the campus library from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Also, William Estrada, a Chicago artist, will demonstrate his silk screening techniques on T-shirts. Shirts will be given free to attendees while supplies last.

Waubonsee offers many ways and opportunities to study art and music. Classes are available for credit, as well as for personal enrichment. Visit www.waubonsee.edu to learn more and to register for classes.
