Waubonsee Community College will host events on Friday, Oct. 5 as part of First Fridays in downtown Aurora.

The event will be held on the college’s Aurora Downtown Campus and will feature Waubonsee’s art and music programs. The Waubonsee Ceramics Club will have an exhibition featuring the work of students, faculty and staff in the library. Students and staff will also demonstrate the techniques of making ceramic art on the potter’s wheel.

In addition to the art exhibition and demonstration, the Waubonsee Jazz Combo will perform in the campus library. Also, William Estrada, a Chicago street artist, will be demonstrating his silk screening techniques on tee shirts. Shirts will be given free to attendees while supplies last.

Waubonsee offers many ways and opportunities to study art and music. Classes are available for credit, as well as for personal enrichment. Some art classes are available in an 8-week format with classes beginning on Oct. 15. Visit www.waubonsee.edu to learn more and to register for classes.
