The Waubonsee Community College Art Department will host a special art event from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, May 4 as part of First Fridays in downtown Aurora.

William Estrada, a visiting artist who works with community art projects, will be there to help attendees make silkscreen t-shirts. Also, the college’s Student Ceramics Club will host an exhibition which will include a ceramics throwing demonstration. Students from Waubonsee’s Jazz Combo will also be performing.

The event will be at Waubonsee’s Aurora Downtown Campus at 18 S. River St. The art event is free and open to the public. Silkscreened t-shirts will be available while supplies last.

Waubonsee offers many ways and opportunities to learn about and study art and music. Classes are available for credit, as well as for personal enrichment. There are several art and music classes available this summer. Enrollment is open now with classes meeting at various times throughout the summer.
