Waubonsee Community College’s downtown Aurora Campus will be the destination of choice for job seekers in the region, when the college hosts its Fall Job Fair on Friday, Sept. 19.

The job fair, which is presented through a partnership with Hollywood Casino and the State of Illinois, is scheduled to run from 9:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room and Library at Waubonsee’s Aurora Campus, 18 S. River St.

Representatives of more than 60 employers are expected to be on hand to meet with job seekers that day.

Employers already registered to offer job openings at the Waubonsee Fall Job Fair include: Armour-Eckrich Meats; FedEx; Freedom Graphic Systems; the Illinois Department of Agriculture; Illinois Department of Children and Family Services; Illinois Secretary of State; IT People Network; Midwest Salt; Old Second National Bank; Presence Mercy Medical Center; Rush-Copley Medical Center; Unilock; Woofbeach; and many others. The State of Illinois will also host a free workshop at the job fair to help interested job seekers learn how to apply for state jobs through the Illinois Department of Central Management Services.

Job seekers planning to attend the job fair are encouraged to research the employers who will be attending; to dress professionally; to bring plenty of résumés; and to be prepared to interview with employers on the spot.

To help job seekers prepare, Waubonsee also will offer free Career Information sessions at the downtown Aurora Campus on Tuesday, Sept. 9, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and again from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.; and at the Aurora Public Library, 1 E. Benton St., on Monday, Sept. 15, from 6 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.

One-on-one appointments are also available through Waubonsee’s Career Services Department.
