Waubonsee Community College will host an event, “Poetry Out Loud,” at the Aurora Campus Library, 18 S. River St. in downtown Aurora, on March 4 from 7 to 9 p.m.

This year, the event is being held in collaboration with the Aurora Public Library’s Latino Americans: 500 Years of History grant. Poets are invited to read selections of their work or favorite works of others during the event, which is free and open to the public. The structure of the event will be casual, open-mic style.

The event is part of Aurora’s First Fridays program, which is an ongoing series that takes place the first Friday of each month, where local businesses and venues in downtown Aurora invite the community to enjoy art, music, food, theater, and more.

Advance registration is not required, but for more information, contact Kathy Bartel at (630) 801-7900 ext. 4626 or kbartel@waubonsee.edu.
