The Waubonsee Community College Board of Trustees appointed Dr. Jamal Scott, of Oswego, to the position of Vice President of Strategic Development at their meeting Dec. 17.
Scott spent the first decade of his career doing and directing admissions work at a variety of schools, including Lawrence University, the Illinois Institute of Technology, Westwood College and Argosy University. For the past five years, he has worked at DeVry University, first as president of that school's Tinley Park Metro Campus and then as the Senior National Dean for Program Development.
Scott earned his Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology. He also holds a master's degree in public administration from the Illinois Institute of Technology and a bachelor's degree in communication from the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh.
