John Metych III

Waubonsee Community College recently named John Metych III as Assistant Dean for Social Sciences, Education and World Languages. In this role, his primary responsibilities are to provide additional support and leadership for the hiring, supervising, mentoring and evaluation of credit adjunct faculty in the division. 

He was previously employed at ITT Technical Institute for more than seven years, first as an Associate Dean and then, most recently, as the Dean of Academic Affairs. Prior to ITT, Metych was employed at Westwood College as a full-time instructor and then as the Technology Institute Program Director and the Technology Program Chair.  Metych also served as an Interim Director of Education. Metych also has experience as a lead instructor for Computer Learning Centers, as an adjunct faculty member at College of DuPage and Triton College, and as a freelance course writer for Pearson Custom Learning Solutions.

Throughout his career Metych has had experience with accreditation, curriculum development and faculty development and training programs.

Metych holds a Master of Education degree in Human Resource Education: Community College Teaching and Learning from the University of Illinois and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Science from Benedictine University.
