In a ceremony at Aurora’s historic Paramount Theatre on May 22, Waubonsee Community College awarded degrees to 1,065 graduates.

Included in the total are 771 transfer-oriented associate degrees, 251 Associate in Applied Science degrees (in 32 different career areas), 57 Associate in General Studies degrees, two degrees focused on fine arts and two degrees focused on engineering.

Delivering the commencement address was Kenneth Knight, General Manager of Caterpillar’s Material Handling Operating Unit. He shared some secrets of success with the class of 2014, including the idea that "life doesn't get better by chance, but by change."

Since its first graduating class in 1968, Waubonsee has conferred 20,681 degrees to local students.
