This course reviews the role of the paralegal in the practice of real estate law. Topics include property interests, title-holding alternatives, and relevant legal terms. The residential transaction process including contract and disclosure documents are also included. Title insurance surveys, leases, loan transactions, note and mortgage documents will be analyzed. Preparing deeds, closing documents and title clearances for closings are also covered.

A blend of face-to-face class meetings in a traditional classroom and asynchronously online. Required face-to-face class meetings are: Thursdays 6:30 p.m. - 9:15 p.m. Scheduled on campus days: 01/25, 02/08, 02/22, 03/07, 03/28, 04/11, 04/25, 05/09. Students can register for both courses that are scheduled at the same day and time as they meet face-to-face on opposite weeks. This course is utilizing Open Educational Resources (OER). No textbook purchase is required and there will be no cost for course materials.
