Waubonsee Hires Assistant Vice President
The Waubonsee Community College Board of Trustees appointed Gary Kecskés to the position of Assistant Vice President of Workforce Solutions and Community and Adult Learning at their February meeting, and he officially assumed the role on April 16.
Kecskés has more than 25 years of experience in higher education, serving in such positions as executive director for economic development at Hillsborough Community College in Tampa, Fla; executive director of the Center for Corporate and Professional Development at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and Dearborn; and director of continuing education and professional development at Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, Mich.
His most recent position was as the dean for community outreach at Housatonic Community College in Bridgeport, Conn. In that role since August 2010, he was responsible for the college’s workforce development components, as well as the college’s marketing and communications efforts and legislative affairs.
Kecskés holds two bachelor’s degrees and a master’s degree in architecture from Lawrence Technological University in Michigan. He also completed the Management of Lifelong Education Certificate program at Harvard University’s graduate school of education.
