Waubonsee Professor to Travel to D.C. for Federal Reserve Discussions

Waubonsee Community College Professor of Economics/Business Diana Fortier, of Geneva, will travel to Washington, D.C. at the end of this month to participate in the “Perspectives From and On the Federal Reserve System” conference, hosted by the Foundation for Teaching Economics’ Professional Teachers Association, The Federal Reserve Board of Governors and The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, Va.

Fortier is one of just 54 faculty members from around the nation chosen to participate in the conference, which will feature presentations by Fed experts, a question-and-answer session with Chairman Ben Bernanke, Socratic discussions of selected required readings and a tour of the Federal Reserve Board.

“This experience will provide great supplementary teaching material and pedagogical methods to implement in my macroeconomics course and to share with fellow Waubonsee faculty,” Fortier said.
