Waubonsee Students Participate in Illinois Government Simulation
For four days earlier this month, 10 Waubonsee Community College students experienced what it’s like to run the state’s government as they participated in the 34th annual Model Illinois Government (MIG) Simulation in Springfield.
More than 250 students from 20 Illinois colleges and universities participated in the legislative simulation, filling the roles of legislators, lobbyists, journalists, attorneys, budget analysts and more.
Ryan Freer, of Yorkville, served as Waubonsee’s head delegate. Other participating Waubonsee students included Karen Diaz, Barbara Hernandez, Nicholas Scanlon and Darshuno Dabney, of Aurora; Daniel Arroyo, of Plano; Carlo Hernandez and Jose Ramos, of Montgomery; Alec Stein, of Sandwich; and Emma Collyer, of Batavia.
