Waubonsee Receives National Marketing Awards
Waubonsee Community College recently received five awards in two separate national educational marketing competitions.
The National Council for Marketing & Public Relations (NCMPR) awarded Waubonsee a Gold Paragon award for its online marketing and advertising at the organization’s national conference in San Francisco March 11-14. This year, more than 80 judges from around the country reviewed nearly 1,800 entries in this annual competition that recognizes excellence in communications among two-year colleges. NCMPR has 1,500 members from more than 600 colleges across the United States, Canada and the Bahamas.
Waubonsee also received four awards in the 27th Annual Educational Advertising Awards competition, which is sponsored by the Higher Education Marketing Report. Waubonsee won a Bronze Educational Advertising Award for the college’s “Fast Facts” 15-second TV commercial series and three awards of merit for the “All in Aurora” outdoor advertising campaign to promote the college’s new downtown Aurora Campus, the Learning First! newsletter and the credit course schedule. The Educational Advertising Awards is the largest awards competition of its kind in the country. This year, more than 2,900 entries were received from more than 1,000 colleges, universities and secondary schools from all 50 states and several foreign countries. A national panel judged the awards.
