Waubonsee Art Coordinator Exhibits Work

Over the past few months, Waubonsee Community College Art Coordinator Anni Holm, of West Chicago, has curated a show, exhibited her work and taught an elementary school workshop.

Through People Made Visible, a nonprofit she co-founded in West Chicago in 2009, Holm recently curated artXposium, an annual multimedia art event. Thirteen artists contributed works this year.

It was Holm’s own work that was on display at last month’s Summer of the Arts festival in Iowa City, Iowa. “NetWorking,” Holm’s interactive knitting installation, was set up at the festival, with attendees encouraged to contribute their own handiwork to the piece.

Last month Holm contributed her time to a sixth grade class at Durkin Park Elementary School in Chicago as part of the Chicago Arts Partnership in Education through the Chicago Institute of Design. She worked with the students to explore and create sound, which was then used in a video project.
