Students Earn Awards at STEM Poster Contest

Two Waubonsee Community College students captured awards at the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Poster Contest earlier this month. In the biological science category, Taylor Joray, of Aurora, earned second place for “The Role of Shape and Color in Agonistic Behavior in Siamese Fighting Fish,” while fellow Waubonsee student Candice Schickel, of Oswego, came in third for her study, “Using Different Temperatures to Measure the Rate of Cellular Respiration on Crickets.”

Other participants from Waubonsee included Diana Silva, Ashley Mars, Tim Pannell and Lynn Vazquez, of Aurora; and Katheryn Billing, of Batavia.
